Move over, doilies. Cut paper’s just gotten a whole lot edgier. The New York Museum of Art and Design’s newest exhibit, “
Slash: Paper Under the Knife,” showcases contemporary artists who use paper (a veritable endangered species in this digital age) in innovative ways. The result is an absolutely breathtaking array of human bodies, intricate machinery, and explosive clouds crafted – somehow – from paper. The exhibit is open until January, but you shouldn’t wait to check out Andreas Kocks’ gorgeous and inspiring works – they’ll forever change the way you see paper. Trust us, these aren’t the construction paper cut-outs you have in mind.
