{"id":12275,"date":"2010-05-24T13:23:12","date_gmt":"2010-05-24T21:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.46.88.49\/?p=12275"},"modified":"2010-05-24T13:23:12","modified_gmt":"2010-05-24T21:23:12","slug":"zazu-hopes-to-be-your-best-damn-alarm-clock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/198.46.88.49\/electrotech\/zazu-hopes-to-be-your-best-damn-alarm-clock","title":{"rendered":"Zazu Hopes To Be Your &#8220;Best Damn Alarm Clock&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12291\" title=\"zazu\" src=\"http:\/\/198.46.88.49\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/zazu.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"92\" \/>Down in the startup alley at TechCrunch Disrupt lies the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.getzazu.com\">app Zazu<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0Zazu bills itself as &#8220;the best damn alarm clock.&#8221; \u00c2\u00a0Usually alarm clocks on phones are fairly simple, you set a time and the app makes a sound, or plays music when that time comes.<\/p>\n<p>Zazu, on the other hand, plays that sound or music, but also speaks to you. \u00c2\u00a0The app will read headlines to you from select RSS feeds, give the local weather, or tell the user their day&#8217;s agenda. \u00c2\u00a0The free version of the app will let users select from ten select RSS feeds including The Huffington Post and Engadget. \u00c2\u00a0When the premium version launches users will be able to select their own feeds other than the preset ten options.<\/p>\n<p>Just being realistic, talking can put most people to sleep (how many times have you dozed off while the TV&#8217;s on?).
