Thanks for your comment. I agree with adding more business courses to creative programs. The simple reality is that talent isn’t enough to pay bills in many cases. There are a fortunate few who partner with someone with a stronger business background, but there are many more who never find their footing. If times are good, and everyone is buying, they can still get by. But when things get challenging they’re most susceptible to having everything close in.

An entrepreneurship course for aspiring designers would be valuable, and perhaps networking events with business school students as well.

perhaps all fashion schools should considering including an additional module on creating of own label, structuring programs for aspiring designers to pitch their ideas to venture capitalists. or just a module on entrepreneurship will go down well for them in this ever changing economy.
