McQueen’s Unofficial Muse, Lady Gaga Takes to the Design Table

After the tragic and unexpected death of designer Alexander McQueen, many have wondered about the direction his namesake brand will take. There is new speculation that pop star and worldwide fashion icon Lady Gaga may be part of the next step for the label.

It has yet to be confirmed, but there is talk that the singer will collaborate on the brand’s spring 2011 collection. In past interviews, McQueen has stated that Gaga has served as one of his “unofficial muses” for previous lines, and her worldwide appeal makes her an ideal partner. {Styleite}

Ever since she rose to stardom, Lady Gaga has turned heads with her outrageous and theatrical fashion choices. For this she is seen as a fearless, fashion forward individual who starts trends, not follows them.

Although we think her choices in designs for her public image are possibly more geared for publicity than for a true love of the crazy things she wears, we still think that if McQueen saw something he drew inspiration from, she’s probably not the worst choice for a seat at the design table.
