Fashion’s Night Out New York: Top 10 Events for Low Key Shoppers

BCBG Max Azria

Who: Lubov and Max Azria, who will be on hand to honor five women from the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.

What: From 8-10 pm the first 50 guests in attendance will receive a Runway Survival Kit, featuring BCBG accessories and beauty essentials. Complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and attendees will be able to enter a drawing for a chance to win a complete look from the Spring 2011 collection, shown in the morning of September 10th.

Angel Street Thrift Shop

What: A silent auction of new designer clothing and accessories donated for the evening, with proceeds going to help those affected by substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and mental illness . Refreshments will be served as you shop while classic fashion themed films play in the background.

City Opera Thrift Shop

Who: A surprise performance by a City Opera singer.

What: Get the first preview of the shop’s fall collection of clothing, accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, furniture, artwork and books from 6pm – 11pm.Guests can also enter to win tickets to New York City Opera performance with no purchase required.

Ermenegildo Zegna

What: Complimentary cocktails for shoppers, an Ermenegildo Zegna knit Duo Tie offered only for Fashion’s Night Out and complimentary monogramming to personalize the experience. All proceeds will be donated to the New York City AIDS Fund.

Subports / Vena Cava

What: Vena Cava, along with Subports, will be hosting a Fashion Outsiders Fashions Night Out party from 6-9pm. Find one-of-a-kind, handmade items on display, created especially for the event by people who have no connection to the fashion industry whatsoever. Curated artisans include: a scientist, an Oklahoma farmer, an MTA worker, toddlers, and many more. All items will be for sale exclusively during the Fashion’s Night Out event, and for one month afterward on a website created by Subports. Proceeds will benefit the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBT youth in New York City.
