As the weather is starting to cool down, some may take the opportunity to visit locales where things are starting to warm up. Finding yourself somewhere as altogether agreeable as Australia would be a good prospect: with its approaching summer, beautiful beaches and adorable furry creatures it’s as good a place as any to touch down after a long haul flight from all points north. But with global travel hubs that ring south-eastern Asia competing for attention, in conjunction with airlines offering no to little fare increase in a multiple day stopover, an Aussie winter jaunt could goes from last stop to encore. Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok are colorful, culture-rich points along the way that could replace day-old sandwiches and an airport layover with authentic ‘pad’ noodles and fascinating finds to fill the senses for not much more than it would have cost to just fly by.
