Is this a recent unblocking? From everything that I could find in pulling together information in Syria, Facebook and YouTube are blocked entirely along with Maktoob (Arabic blogging platform), and a long list of political websites that are critical of the government.

Perhaps through proxies they aren’t blocked, but everything I was able to find suggests direct access to many sites is not permitted.
