Lindsay Lohan Faces Her Fate and is Headed to Jail

Dealing with all the trials and tribulations that come with being a Hollywood starlet, Lindsay Lohan has finally hit what many call rock bottom.

Facing a judge Tuesday in a probation hearing after being arrested and charged with drunk-driving in two separate instances back in 2007, Judge Revel showed no mercy on the troubled actress as she handed down three consecutive 90-day jail sentences followed by a 90-day stint in a controlled rehabilitation center. It was Lohan’s continuous disregard for the orders of the court (skipping court appearances, setting off her alcohol-monitoring device and lying to authorities just to name a few) that ultimately led to the sentenced time behind bars.

A teary Lohan pleaded with the judge prior to sentencing saying, “”As far as I knew I was in compliance with my programs and I wasn’t trying to get special treatment,” she added. “I have to provide for myself. I have to work. Having said that, I did everything to balance my jobs and showing up. I’m not taking this as a joke. It’s my life. It’s my career. … I take responsibility for my actions. I’ve tried to do the best I can. It’s been such a long haul. … I don’t want you to think that I don’t respect you.” {LA Times}

Respect or not, there was little leniency or remorse for the Mean Girls star. The judge was unconvinced that Lindsay learned her lesson and believes jail time will be beneficial. Like many Hollywood stars before her, Lohan will not be shuffled in to the correction facility amongst other inmates but instead be housed in a separate, isolated wing and remain heavily protected.

“The jail part is the most humiliating part, and it interferes with her career,” Brafman said. “But that will be short and over, and it will pass rather quickly. The real difficult part comes after jail, where she faces the demons that sent her to jail to begin with.” {MTV}
