I have not seen this reference before and it makes sense. The movie is old enough and was big enough that Roger would remember it. Were it not for the “Dr.” instead of “Mr.” Lyle Evans, I would be convinced. Besides, I don’t like believing the “red herring” theory.

Perhaps, this is a fictional person who we’ll hear more about in future episodes, but for now I’ll go with brilliant marketing ploy.
