From top to bottom, this was a big weekend for fashion auctions. Princess Beatrice‘s infamous Philip Treacy royal wedding hat, was sold on eBay for more thanÂ Â£81,000 (approximately $130,000 at current exchange rates) with proceeds going to Unicef and the charity Children in Crisis.Â {BBC} The buyer is anonymous, but this is our guess.Â No word on if that includes the 140,000+ Facebook fans that the hat has picked up since first appearing on the world stage. {Facebook}

If the curly bow and ring fascinator isn’t your thing, then perhaps you’ll appreciate the next expensive auction item more. Giuseppe Zanotti and Chopard teamed up to create a pair of 360-carat pink shoes. Encrusted with 600 briolette-cut stones, the pink satin sandals feature what are probably the most expensive ankle straps in the world: rubellites, pink sapphires, diamonds and rubies set in pink gold to be exact.

Also snapped up by an anonymous bidder, the shoes were modeled by Anja Rubik and fetched Â£125,000 (approximately $201,000 at current exchange rates) , contributing a respectable amount to the $10 million total amount raised at the Cannes amfAR gala to benefit AIDS research.Â {Telegraph}

Now in our fashion fantasies, both items went to the same sartorially daring, deep pocketed and charitable anonymous shopper (Daphne Guiness? Gaga?), but there aren’t any details on the identity of the person who will be wearing diamonds on the ankle straps of their shoes either.

Lanvin for H&M Couture: Signature9’s Exclusive Look!

Earlier this evening, Lanvin and H&M hosted a fashion show of couture counterparts to the forthcoming mass-market collection. While we missed the live show (despite our best efforts), we’re truly excited to support the auction of the couture dresses. 25 outfits were chosen from the Lanvin for H&M collection to be produced as full fledged Lanvin looks exclusively for an auction benefiting UNICEF via H&M’s All For Children project.

We’re supporting the lovely little black dress covered in bows (the one that quells a chic catfight in the promotional video for the H&M collection), though you can view and bid on all 24 looks (19 outifts, 5 sketches by Alber Elbaz) at the dedicated Lanvin for H&M website. Bidding closes at 11:59pm CET (5:59pm EST), so be quick! Supporting children in need, and promoting fashion diplomacy? That’s a look we’re all for.

Gucci Sells Story Books?

If you havenâ€t heard, Gucci is celebrating its fifth year in its benefit campaign for UNICEF–go Gucci! This year Gucci creative director, Frida Giannini along with author and illustrator, Michael Roberts are pooling their creative resources to up the anti of the â€œGucci for UNICEFâ€ campaign. Roberts has written a sequel to his â€œSnowman in Paradiseâ€ childrenâ€s book published in 2004, called â€œSnowman in Africaâ€. This book will be available at Gucci.com from November 16^thÂ through December 31^stÂ where 100% of the proceeds go directly to the campaign.
