Angelina Jolie Boards the Celebrity Design Train

United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and A-list Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is jumping on the celeb fashion designer bandwagon with her new line of jewelry.

On the red carpet at the premiere for her spy drama Salt, the actress can be seen wearing some the first pieces in the collection.

Collaborating with former Asprey CEO, Robert Procop, (whose decade-long design experience will serve as a backbone for Angie’s collection) the design duo will showcase classic jeweled pieces that Angelina will most likely wear herself.Â {FabSugar}

The exclusive collection won’t be sold traditionally in retail stores like most celebrity designs, however. Instead, her pieces will be sold through Procop’s clients with all of the proceeds going directly to Angelina’s charity, the Education Partnership of Children in Crisis.

It will be interesting to see how a collection from Angelina does. Though her photos regularly command millions – a gift passed along to her children – her stint as an ambassador for St. John wasn’t seen as being the best fit. With what we assume will be more input in the design process this time, maybe a more personal involvement will make a difference. Brand ambassadorships aside, Jolie’s woven a good dose of humanitarian roles into her bad-ass roles, and it’s nice to see her star power (doesn’t that always include a design stint?) directed to causes close to her heart.

Victoria’s Secret is ‘Poptimistic’ About the Future

Victoria’s Secret is releasing a glossy collection bound to make a cameo on MTV’s Jersey Shore (and more fashionable, less gel-loving locales as well). Aptly namedÂ “Poptimistc”, it’s set to hit shelves in January to add a little cheer to post-holiday despondency. The pink themed glossies come in cool cassette-tape shaped cases in funky, vibrant and shimmery shades.

If you are one of those girlfriends who like to borrow liberally from your boyfriend’s wardrobe to add an amorous, masculine kick to your own, you might want to consider turning the table (and doing your boyfriend a sweet favor) by investing in Maria Cornejo’s new menswear collection. Debuted during her Spring/Summer 2010 runway and conceived as unisex pieces, they are utilitarian, comfortable and slouchy, downtown chic packed into four democratically flattering looks: a minimalist zip navy rain coat; washed tailored black trousers (we love the cropped, gentle flare leg) and shorts; scoop neck, tunic-length printed T-shirt. Our recommendation would be the coffee colored, slouchy, peek-a-boo knit sweater for mutual benefit. Slip it on, with or sans belt, for a leisure Sunday romp around town. For him, work a neo-dapper look with a white button down, black tie and skinny slacks and see your girlfriends and their boyfriends go green with envy.

This seems to be the year for killer sneaker releases, with the latest drop from Vans being no exception. Â The new Half Cab LX model is a slick shoe completely stripped of frou-frou gimmicks or crazy patterns (Nike, we’re talking to you!), which will satisfy the guy in your life who’s more into laid-back cool than flashing lights.

We love the solid black panel behind the all-black laces, and the sleek shape is a refreshing SoCal skater take on the mid-height basketball shoe silhouette.
