On Wednesday, news spread that the famously handsome quarterback and husband to Supermodel Gisele Bündchen agreed to a deal with Ugg Australia that will make him the face of the brand’s men’s division, marking the first time Ugg has specifically pushed men’s products.{Styleite}

According to a press release from Deckers Outdoor Corporation, which acquired the Ugg brand in 1995, Brady adores Uggs and wears them all the time (doubtful), and company Chairman and CEO Angela Martinez said Mr. Gisele’s status as a highly noted football player and “style icon” makes him their ideal spokesman.

We were going to say that what that likely means is Brady is meant to make Uggs seem more masculine and thus more appealing to a wider population of men, but actually Uggs are already pretty masculine-looking and have somehow become associated with women and girls. The Uggs will probably, therefore, have the opposite effect on Brady. In other words, he’s liable to find his Ugg boots wearing him, not the other way around. The score for now: Ugg-1, Brady-0.

There will be 5 retail locales set to open, with many more to follow.

Payless is keeping busy these days, having also partnered with GameStop for the holiday season to help make shopping easier for customers. The duo have teamed up to create a cross-promotion where you can receive discount coupons to the opposite retailer. While we’re used to pairings along the lines of emerging designers/fashion heavyweights plus the budget shoe retailer (think Christian Siriano, Pat Fields or Abaete), this is a unique approach to helping customers out for the season. Undoubtedly, the stores are exposing each other to new audiences.

GameStop’s Tony Bartel acknowledges as much. “[This collaboration] also allows GameStop and Payless to reach out to each others’ customers to drive awareness of amazing gift ideas and offers they might not have otherwise considered.”

Since they’re obviously open to collaborations, perhaps the Philippine stores will offer a Bryanboy collection.

The idea is to introduce a new limited edition sneaker at each international pop up store , held for only two weeks, starting with NYC then Miami, before moving to Europe and Asia. Like any world tour these items are going to sell out faster than Jonas Brothers tickets to a line of 12-year-old school girls. But what is the big deal afterall?

For starters they are made for exclusivity, so one literally has to travel to each pop-up store around the world for access to each style of shoe. If you are that lucky gent to grasp a pair, there is the option to have your initials embossed onto a customized leather tag on the shoe laces. These shoes are limited by time, distance and style.
