Cut paper’s just gotten a whole lot edgier.Â The New York Museum of Art and Design’s newestÂ exhibit, “Slash: Paper Under the Knife,” showcases contemporary artists who use paper (a veritableÂ endangered species in this digital age) in innovative ways. The result is an absolutely breathtakingÂ array of human bodies, intricate machinery, and explosive clouds crafted – somehow – from paper. The exhibit is open until January, but you shouldn’t wait to check out Andreas Kocks’ gorgeous and inspiring works – they’ll forever change the way you see paper. Trust us, these aren’t the construction paper cut-outs you have in mind.

New Yorkers Bring Life To Roman Slaughterhouse

Entering the "New York Minute" Exhibit - Giorgio Benni

In a slaughterhouse turned modern art museum, the â€œNew York Minuteâ€ exhibit, which opened last week, has brought the vibrancy and rapidity of New York to the slow-moving, sultry streets of Rome, Italy. Over 60 New Yorkers paired up with local art students to transform the historic building â€“ still replete with iron cages, meat hooks, cobblestones, and stables â€“ into a space of dizzying color thatâ€s open until midnight – attracting a somewhat unorthodox audience of young clubbers. It strikes us as a deliciously contemporary and thought-provoking exhibit not to be missed.
